Poppies in France
Poppies in France
Oil on panel. 12” x 24” This painting is an imaginary scene inspired by the few times I’ve been to France where in summertime red poppies grow wild in the meadows. We were rock climbing in Ceuse and the Verdon Gorge when I fell in love with several scenes like this and the idea has stayed with me for years. I also have a special fondness for queen annes lace which grew wild along the edges of the fields on my childhood farm in Vermont.
